In 2012, Voleste released a Sims 2 re-creation of Magic Town that is soooooo cute, but as I’ve said, we’ve learned a lot about creating clean hoods in recent years.
Fortunately, this wonderful creation can be made clean and safe for today’s players. Oh, the nostalgia, right?!
The mainhood had, apparently, been made from a vanilla Pleasantview and carries a number of references to sims and lots as well as having attached subhoods. Although it’s meant to be empty, you can see missing sim references in Hoodchecker and other debris in SimPE. I notice the downtown version is cleaner, so Voleste must’ve learned more during the process as well, as we all do.
I tried to contact Voleste through dreamwidth and MTS about three months before sharing, but never heard back, so if s/he turns out to prefer to share this on a different site, I’m happy to take it down here and pass it on.
In the meantime, here it is, in all its gorgeous retro CC-free glory! It was numbered N004, so I’ve changed that to MAGC to avoid conflicts. If you have a version of the game that can’t use 4-letter hood names, you may need to use a bulk renamer to change it to make it show up.
