Up for grabs today is my just-for-fun interpretation of the Addams Family House from the 60s TV show. Minimal CC, all included.
I don’t share lots often, but I had so much fun building this one and thought others might have fun with it, too. This is my interpretation (not an architectural replica by a long shot) of the house from the TV show.
I wanted it to read as the Addams Family house and have the fun, quirky feel, something like… the Addams Family if they were Sims sixty years after the show. I’ve included all the CC, most of it just little recolors I made for the house and a couple of must-have Addams family icons, Morticia’s chair and the giraffe painting.
I started with Wolf68’s basic shape, and went from there. From others, I’ve included Leefish’s fence which, although not the shape in the actual show, seemed just perfect, Windkeeper’s Faux Bearskin Rug which I thought so cute the way it is I decided not to recolor it to match the show, a bit of ceiling trim that was originally from 4eversimsfantasy, but I got it from Vimpse and redid the color myself, one of Michelle’s recolors from MTS for the BayView V.2 that I recombined into one file, and one of Kimsie’s fireplace recolors.
The rest of the CC is mine. For Morticia’s chair, I started with MLC’s basic shape, retopologized, mapped, shaped, and textured so it is half the resolution and almost half the poly. From Maxis resources, I created a deco broken shutter for the tower and made Maxis hood deco stumps into lot deco.
I also remeshed the Metropole column because I don’t like the way the Maxis looks like it will fall over. It’s a default replacement so, if you like the Maxis one, just don’t put mine in.
I made a tiny mod to the cowplant so the space around it can be used by letting the sim walk through it if needed. It will let the tiny conservatory play well. If you don’t want it, don’t put it in but the little conservatory is pretty darn cute and they will just stomp without it.
Anywho… the lot is clean, no sim references, nasty controllers, or super hug. The CC is packaged separately but all included. There are hidden fire alarms and a hidden security alarm. The tombstones are just deco and safe to delete. I did need to go over the 5-level limit, so if you want to change something on the roof, you will need the cheat “sethighestallowedlevel.” The lot does have quite a lot of items, so if you experience lag, just try deleting some things that are less important, maybe some landscaping and knickknacks? I designed the lot to be played with walls up and I think it works well that way, but however you play, I hope you have as much fun with it as I have.
