I’ve lived in and driven through many a place that was truly a widespot in the road and I wanted my Widespot to have that feel. I had already moved the houses closer in to make the town walkable and created a backstory for the founding of the little town, but those extra roads in the Maxis Sedona terrain kinda bugged me.
A good friend in my Facebook Sims group (Yay, DAVO!) modified the terrain for me, and here it is! I love it, and he’s willing to share. I asked him to remove the extra roads I didn’t want and add a road on the other side of the mountain for my itinerant carny camp. He also made the mountains cradle the town a bit more to give it more reason for only being a widespot in the road. Did I mention I love it?
If you’d like to use this terrain (back up your Widespot, first), make a new empty hood with it, then use HoodReplace to replace your Widespot’s road, terrain, and bridges, and consider keeping your deco and trees.
I had to experiment a little, but only ended up moving trees around a bit. There’s only one lush png for this terrain as I only intended to use it with HoodReplace. I noticed that sometimes the square shadows of trees that you remove seem to be “stuck,” but they will go away if you reload the hood.
