When your rural sims have such a long commute to school they need a hood deco school bus!
My current hood is quite remote and the kids have to travel to the city to reach school – meaning I don’t want to build a school in my current hood and the bus has to go somewhere, right?
I wanted a school bus as hood deco on the highway out of town, but I couldn’t find one. So, as happens more and more often, now, I just gave up looking and made one.
This is the Maxis mesh and textures on a cloned road arch using Sunni’s vehicle extraction as a head start. Found in Landmarks. The first version is made as hood deco usually is, with the bus sitting on the ground:
However, after placing it way at the edge of the highway, off in a far corner of my hood, where I will never look at it again, I decided this was not good enough. Because, like all such hood deco, the wheels were sinking into the highway.
Nevermind that I can barely see it, I’ve been learning to tweak meshes, so… I raised it up so that it sits better on the roads:
Most hood deco vehicles look like the blue one shown and so does the bus above. The Street Level Bus hovers just enough to look better on the road.
The file is renamed so you can tell which it is, but it will conflict with the first bus, so pick the height you prefer and just keep one.
