The grand opening of my tiny diner, The Soup Kitchen. At first, they came for the free cupcakes, but as the evening cooled off, they began ordering the tasty soup.
I have a whole hood that I think of as Hollywood. It’s full of actor sims who play iconic ones, lots of impersonators, etc. Everyone is represented and the place is full of stage sets and film locations: lights, camera, FREEZER CLOCK!
I love how I got everyone posed so they look natural but you can see who everyone is. Reminds me of some great paintings I’ve seen in museums. Yes, I do think my Simshot is a masterpiece. 😀
There’s another shot I consider an outtake but do like a lot. I took it before it occurred to me to change the sign out front to a branded one.
This one shows how I ended up branding the lot. I recolored the lighted sign on top, then made the cupcake sign…
After that, well, I had to do the plates, too, right?
Both the plates in boblishman’s dishrack and the plates attached to ExNem’s nobake cupcakes have been branded. The diner uses bienchen83’s Community Lot Revolution for soup.
After that, well, I had to extract the Maxis spoon. What’s soup bowl clutter without a spoon to go with it… Can we say DETAIL-ORIENTED, boys and girls? Sheesh. It’s a fun lot, though, and I had tons of fun building it and learned new skills doing it. My favorite way to play.
If I recall, I think I wanted a cupcake bakery originally, but, then realized the animations only look good when the cook is making soup. So, anyway, now most of my hoods have some version of this little franchise and, last I heard, Peter Ottomas was thinking of buying in.
