In 2016, Kalisa released a really charming Sims 2 re-creation of Old Town and Downtown from The Sims. It’s adorable, but these days, we know more about what causes corruption.
We have a lot more information now and better tools for making our hoods safer and more stable than we did in the past, so a few months ago, I went on a cleaning spree, finding great hoods from the past and cleaning them for safer play. This is one I really like. I tried to contact Kalisa through a few different venues, but in several months have not heard back. If it turns out, she doesn’t want this shared here, I’m happy to take it down or give it to her to share herself. But for now…
Here is Kalisa’s beautiful terrain and decoration with Prah’s lots. The original hood doesn’t have Sims in it, but it isn’t really empty. It has leftover Sim references: Old DNA entries, Wants and Fears, old Family indexes, NPC references, etc. that appear to be the result of starting the hood from an old hood and deleting sims and lots. Some people say that this type of debris can be assigned to new sims and cause corruption. If so, we want to avoid that, so I’ve cleaned all of these references out of my versions.
These hoods have never been opened in my game. They were cleaned outside it with SimPE only.
In order to see the lovely decoration, you’ll need three of Criquette’s bridges: the 5-tile hump to the lighthouse, the 7-tile hump for the long bridges, and the 3-tile hump for the short. Kalisa says you need Numenor’s waterfall, but you don’t need to download that. The waterfall is already in your game. Numenor’s little mod just made it visible in the catalog.
I used my clean versions to make new subhoods, in case you want to attach them to your main hoods. Also, since the terrain is really nice, and because making a lot-free version is just one of the steps of cleaning hoods, I’ve also uploaded versions without lots. Last, because Kalisa’s hood is so lovely, I had a request on MTS to move my fixed version of Marka93’s Old Town Sims into my clean version of Kalisa’s hood, so you may want to check that out, as well.
