Strangetown is probably the buggiest of the vanilla Maxis hoods.
Dorsal Axe has a fixed version that I’ve used for a couple of years now while he was testing. It’s the most authentic of the fixed versions (all original townies, etc) and he’s documented his changes, thoroughly. Now that it’s officially released on MTS, with permission, I’ve converted his Fixed Strangetown into a subhood so you can add it to a main-mega-uber hood, and… that’s it, here it is. The subhood is called DAST, for Dorsal Axe Strangetown.

If you don’t know how to add subhoods, MTS will have plenty of info to get you started. Installing subhoods randomizes townie names, so, if you want the original names, you’ll need to change them back.
Note: I use 4-letter hood names to avoid conflicts. If you have a version of the game that can’t use 4-letter hood names, you may need to use a bulk renamer to change the names to make the hood show up in your game.
