In time for Halloween, more upcycled deco – a dead sim and autopsy table perfect for your mortuary.
In 2005, DBCab released a dead sim with a shroud, but graphics technology has greatly improved since then, so when I started learning to mesh, I really wanted to remake this fun bit of CC that I’ve enjoyed using.
DBCab’s original dead sim on Acehole’s autopsy table:
In the end, I made a completely new mesh for the shroud and toe tag, modified the dead sim mesh to lie a little more dead-like, cleaned up the package file, and gave all of it new in-game textures to cut back on the resources used. Then, I added recolors so the dead sim picks up the five basic default skins in the game, S1-4 plus the alien, S5.
Sunrader’s Redo Acehole Autopsy Table & DBCab DeadSim
I’ve paired this new creation with a redo of Acehole’s 2005 Autopsy Table. (At some point, I had the impression, these two names are used by the same creator, but I may be mistaken about that.)
For the table, I recloned it, so it’s no longer a dining table, removed sim interactions with it and unneeded resources, remapped it to use a much smaller texture, removing duplicate textures, and cleaned up the table so it’s not dripping blood (if you want it dripping blood, see Acehole’s original – I figure that’s what the sink is for.) Then, the best bit, I used it to model my shroud on and then reslotted the table, so that it now fits my dead sim and shroud perfectly.
The first slot on the end fits the head pointing to the sink, and the middle slot will fit perfectly with the toe tag toward the sink.
Both files are in the download. They are found together in my usual deco spot of sculptures for $44. Note that skin textures used for the dead sim are the Maxis umhairbald-skin textures, so if your default doesn’t have those, the skin shown will be the Maxis ones. You are welcome to make new recolors for the dead sim using other customs or defaults.
New for Halloween 2021 – Deco Morgue Freezer
My little contribution for the holiday, new upcycled Morgue Freezer Deco Doors. I used DBCab’s door style on a totally new object with a new texture. My easy to place doors fit a 2-tile wall and are, I think, more appropriately Sim-sized. Happy Halloween!
